Won Idaho FLW State Qualifier
I went back to Idaho to fish the state qualifer, on Coeur d'Alene Lake and won. I prefished all week mon-fri, and then got big fish on saturday with a 3.29lb largie on a frog I won a Shimano Crushal rod. So now I'm going up to Pitsburgh for the nationals, on 1 of the 3 rivers up there. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do or use I'm thinking its going to be a finesse tournament

Quick question.....Did you win a State Qualifier or the State Championship?
I was on Coeur d'Alene Lake last summer at this time. It's a beautiful lake with very little fishing pressure. Did you catch one off of the floating green? That would have been very cool!!! |

I live on one of the Three rivers. My best luck is with spinnerbaits and chatterbaits with a trailer. I do good on jigs but mostly at night. The bassmasters was won on a suspending bait. KVD won fishing around bridge piers. Good luck if the water is muddy and fast. Look for eddies and cast upriver. A lot of guys have good luck with topwaters early in the morning. Be prepared to catch a lot of dinks. My biggest so far is a smallie around 3 lbs. Now if you could get upriver on the Yough which flows into the Mon you could catch some good size smallies. To do that you would need a jet motor.

No I was visiting my sister who lives in Spokane, WA and we made the drive over to the lake. Ate a couple burgers, walked the worlds largest dock, and took a boat trip around the lake. They had the big triathalon that weekend that I was there. |
