hmm... Not a big Quantum fan here, but it should be a good combo. I'd get a Daiwa, Shimano, or Abu Garcia baitcaster on a Shimano rod.

Ya, the only quantum reel I've had (bill dance sig) worked fine for a wile, than kinda just stopped, they don't last very long IMO. Go with a shimano curado if you're gonna spend that much!

Yeah, great reel. It's got some "Enthusiast" JDM features without the JDM price tag.

I got a Energy PT as a gift and have no complaints at all. I don't know if I would go out and buy one over a Abu Revo, but deff a nice reel. It cast great and it pretty darn smooth too.

I bought my first Quantum reel a couple months ago (2009 Tour PT) and I have no problems with it. Casts a mile, and its smooth as he11 (well, it better be, it has a million ball bearings. lol)

I would say for the money go for a citica for now, its a great reel and will be all that you will ever need at your current level, plus it may save you a few bucks in the process. Pair it with like a Berkley lightning or a shimano rod.

And for the price I heard the break on those are not so hot. What are your thoughts? I love the look of those, that's for sure. |

I say if you like the reel, go for it. It won't let you down if that is what your wondering. Plus KVD used it 2008, so if its good enough for him.....it's good enough for me LOL
