BB, I've got this map that JB pointed me to. It's the northern map, Kentucky Dam to KY/TN State Line. That's pictures of it you see in my earlier posts, on the previous page.

Yeah, I gotta agree WTL. I'm really hoping to catch a nice smallie there, or a new PB, which shouldn't be too hard...

FYI- I did read(FishingHotSpotMaps) that most of the smallies tend to like the eastern(opposite) banks of Kentucky Lake. I'm not sure why though? But I do know that's where the old river channel is, deeper water too.

Thats true woody, if you cross the lake and see the bigger boulders in front of many coves and steeper drop offs. This entire side of the lake is all natural, no houses, docks, etc

That sounds like one heck of view!

Something else of interest on that side of the lake is that quarry that we're able to navigate our boats back into, that might be worth checking out, just for the view if nothing else.

heck ya that quarry is worth hitting, you idle into the cove and make a a left in to the old rock quarry, theres a lot of graffiti on the one wall of rock, its a good place to get out of bad weather too. its about the size of a typical five acre quarry lake.

It sounds like a location worth checking into. Hopefully the big ol' Bronzebacks will be home that weekend. We'll just have to wait and see.

I knew I wasnt the only guy who saw the quarry. Hehe. I'm betting on a lot of the east side of the lake.

KEVIN:

My wife recently joined the site under the name MississippiGal. If you'd like to change it on the "Attending" list, feel free. If not, no big deal.

Oh, and the rest of you boys better stay out of my honey hole...

Everybody; we'll meet in the old quarry across the river. I'll bring the dynamite.

Since that'll be us anyways (at only 8mphs...), I'll just volunteer me dad and I for fish cleaning duty. I think bama can vouch we can fillet some fish. And w/o those fancy 'lectric fillet knives.

just got back from the doctor and she said the baby is doing great. only bad thing is she said no fast and bumpy boat rides for britney (lol yeah right). so depending on water conditions we may have to spend some time in some water that i may not really want to fish. but if the water isn't too rough it's game on.

Glad the baby and the mama are doing good. Louann has her 4-week checkup tomorrow, and she's probably going to be told the same thing.

c rig I would n't worry about the big bear cove where we are staying at unless the wind kicks up..its fairly protected and is a huge area to boat through at half throttle or even taking it easy, its still easy to get to places to fish. Now if B takes a nap and ya wanna open that sucka open, please feel free to take a ride ! lol
