Should i leave my bait worms (Senkos zooms etc) in their packaging? I pulled all of them out this weekend in the parking lot at my local lake

bassboss, that's pretty nice, but you can fit all your cranks and jerbaits in once box?! oh well, I guess I'm not talking to zooker, who can't fit all his cranks in one boat.

I went with Falcon boxes. They are a lot more expensive and don't hold as much, but I haven't once had a tangled mess of treble hooks. I'd say, if nothing else, get yourself a Falcon 501 (I think it's 501)... It's the one for terminal tackle. it is NICE! I don't think I could go back to using a regular 3600 or 3700 box for terminal tackle. although I'm mad, one of the hinges is cracked. It works, but for 12 bucks, I'd expect it not to be cracked. I meant to take it back, but I've had it almost a year now. I got it right before BPS opened here at Cabela's. I've been back to cabela's once...

I just picked up a few more spinning lures from walmart for $1 a piece. The monkey strikes again. Hopefully the fish will too this weekend

In my opinion, Spiderwire is junk to begin with. Toss it out. I just picked up a spool of Berkley Trilene XL Smooth Casting today, based on reviews at both bass pro shops and cabela's. can't wait to try it out.
As far as lures go, I highly recommend Bass Pro Shops XPS Nitro Minnow. My first cast ever with this lure netted me a 20" Largemouth. Best $3.99 I ever spent.
I'd also recommend Cotton Cordell's Jointed Grappler Shad. Chrome/Black and Perch have both worked very well for me

Are you basing your opinions of line solely on the reviews at Bass Pro Shops? Have you used any of the lines yourself?

Get your self one of them Plano Beer cooler tackle boxes. As a newbie you start things off the right way.

Used it myself and didn't like it at all. Although i do gotta admit, it was so long ago, I don't remember what specific problems I had with it.
I did recently read a bunch of the reviews on it though, since my Cajun Line experiment went horribly awry last year.
Didn't look like Spider Wire has improved much

Fair enough. I havent used spiderwire in a while, I pretty much stick with powerpro cause I cant find fault in it other than its not clear.

I was lookin at some Powerpro but didn't know much about it so I went with the Trilene.

Sounds like you're makin a solid start Foyt.
Fishing is a cheap form of entertainment, but the startup cna get pretty costly.
NEVER walk into a department store without hitting the tackle section, if they have one, looking for clearance items.
For me, WalMart and Meijer fit that bill quite nicely.
I'd also recommend hitting BPS and Cabelas online weekly to check out their clearance items.

I know I've said this over and over but it bears repeating.4" red shad power worms(zook knew that was coming eventually). For some reason in Jersey you just can't go wrong with them. Also keep a can of WD-40 on hand to spray 'em with.(saw that one coming too,eh zook)
What town are you in?I live up near Merrill Creek,if you want to catch a boatload of smallies this spring let me know,we can hit the Crik.
