Default Big bass contest

Was just thinking of a big bass contest for this year. We could break it down to above and below the Mason-Dixon Line. Everyone who enters could buy something worth $5 (fishing related) and send it to the winners. You could send your entries to me and I'll keep track of everything.

Now capt......convicts would give you too much of an advantage you know. I think it would be a great idea, i'm game. largemouth, smallies, convicts too. But it would have to be in seperate catagories i think. Sound ok?

Can I qualify in all three brown / convict / LGMouth...

Wait I just thought of something...

I will need to disqualify myself right up front as hardly ever fish except for that one gratuituos cast I take each trip out..

Okay. Register before the end of Feb. with what species you are fishing for. If agreed let's keep it limited to largemouth, smallmouth, spotted and convict. Pm me to register and I will post monthly reports. Contest will run from March 1st to the end of December.
Let's try to keep it simple.

Sure any or all catagories. Just means you might have to send or recieve more than one prize.

Okay...since I am really at a disadvantage, living in the land of Mini-bass...Indiana, I will propose a different contest.

Who can lose the most weight this year?

How would we go about verifying things? I mean I know it's just for fun and I trust that no one would cheat but would we have to submit a picture of our scales showing the weight and the fish? It sounds like a lot of fun, just curious as to how it would work.

We had talked about this last year, but it never really did pan out.
My proposal was and remains, to compare your catch against the state record.

For example, my state record LM is 21lbs 12 oz or 21.75 lbs a 10lbs bass would score a 45.9%
Indiana LM record is 14lbs 2 oz or 14.12 lbs The same 10 lbs bass would score a 84.9%.

If you make the determining factor the percentage of the state record, you can even the playing field.
I will have ot look back through the older posts, but we have all of the state records listed along with the formulas.

Somewhere I had a spreadsheet already created where you could just put in the pounds and ounces. It did the rest for you. I will look for it and can share with you guys if you want.

The formula is pretty easy. total lbs*16 + ounces to equal total weight in ounces.
total weight in ounces of catch divided by total ounces of state record.

BTW, Even though it was my idea, the percentage of state record really screw me over..lol

BassinBob, or anyone else who wants it.

If you want to PM me your e-mail address, I can send the spreadsheet I made. It was already set up for LM and SM for each state.
