Hey there
Sorry...been AWOL for some time. No excuses, just life stuff.
So I finally got round to uncover and fire up the boat on the rabbit ears. A watchful eye revealed that water out was spitting instead of streaming, then it quit and the alarm went off. The water pump is shot...but then it is a 2002 so 10 years is more than one could expect. In a way. I'm really glad it went in the yard instead of the middle of the lake! Anybody know about what I'll have to pay to have a new water pump installed in a 90hp Mercury outboard?

Hey Abbeysdad... To have one installed on my yamaha 150, cost me $220.
Now that was just the impellar, my impellar housing did not need replacing. -Mark |

thanks woody....I was thinking around a couple hundred. I'm going to be trying a new repair place (for me) down the road so wanted a guestimate in order to judge his fair pricing.

No idea about your repair cost, but welcome back to the forums!

Thanks WatterBoy! Been too long. I love fishing, but have had quite a dry spell since I got the boat 3 years ago (go figure). Not much of a threat - even though I'm catch 'n release!
Now I have to admit I'm a fair weather fisherman. I've been skunked too many times when I was up and out in the dark, cold and wet - so the heck with that! But, love being out on the water - something about it is soooooo peaceful. Now I don't mind it if/when they're biting....but I sure like a quiet cove and drift fishing, even when the bite is somewhere else...and I'll stay home on the holidays when the launch is a real zoo! :-) AD
