Default Line Conditioner

No I'm not going to ask if I should use it....I do!

My question is, now that the stuff is like $8 a 4oz bottle, how many squirts per application do you anglers use?

I use two on my baitcasters and approx. 4 per spinning reel.
I use on every single reel to be used each time I fish....ok, every day.
That's six to seven a day min.
I've use just short of 2 bottles this year so far and probably be starting a third today.

So anglers, how much do you use?
Is this squirt squirting to much?

The forum double posted....why, no idea.
Then I couldn't delete either one?
Frankly it never told me it posted even once.

So ignore one of them....one of them.

I use a bottle of KVD L&L every couple seasons. I use enough to see that I've applied it to most of the line on the spool. Usually 2-3 squirts.

I apply it to my FC and Mono lines every month or so. I don't think any more than that is necessary, especially with good lines.

I don't see line conditioners as a substitute for a good, limp line. I've fished a whole season with a year old spool of Seaguar InvisX and no line conditioner, and I never had a single problem with memory. Same goes for the only mono I use, Sufix Elite (or Siege). I can fish it straight off the filler spool with no problems. I find that if I get a good line, I use much less line conditioner.

Anthony thanks. I use LFT, Suffix and Ultracast.
I have used line year latter too.
Frankly I've even tested them by spraying one reel and not another.
Both worked great without much memory.
I beleive in quality lines as you do, too.

Thank you for your input!

The squirt is squirting too much I guess?

I probably use 3 or 4 sprays per reel. I spray, rotate the spool, spray, rotate...until I feel like all the line is coated well. It's probably overkill but a bottle lasts a long time. I do agree though that using better lines probably would be fine without it.

Don, Joe and BO, thanks for the input.
I began with Reel Magic years and years ago.
I guess in my mind I was also benefitting the reel by spraying the line. So from day one over spray and excess spray was benefitting the reel as much as the line. In my mind.
I use KVD, Reel Magic(petroluim based) and when no other can be found Line Butter.(messy and when you thumb the reel on baitcasters you actually get a butter film on thumb). Really don't like but an OK conditioner.
Conditioner and spinning reels for me is a must. Baitcaster, more of an option.

You can buy it by the gallon from Tackle Warehouse. I do that and it brings the price to just over 2.00 for a 4oz bottle. I fish alot of big swimbaits and use P-Line CXX from 15 to 30# so I use a large quantity of the solution. I purchased the gallon over 3 years ago and still have a approximately half of the gallon left. According to a chemistry professor at UT the solution should be good for over 6 years if kept where the conditions are the same (room temp).
