Unhappy A sad day for me

Well, I had been dreading this day and today it came. I had to put my dog down. He was a wire haired mutt named Scruffy and the name really fit him. He was 16 years old, almost blind and deaf. He had been going downhill for a while and he really wasn't living anymore, just existing. Yesterday he took a turn for the worse and was just miserable. It was the right thing to do but I sure hated having to do it. Best dog I ever had. I sure am going to miss him.

That sucks, Reb.

Sounds like you made the right call, though.
Taking care of it when it's time is the best possible thing we can do as a pet owner.
Doesn't really make it any easier though

Sorry. I know how tough a decision it can be, but when we acquire pets we know it goes with the territory, even though we don't like it.

I feel for you buddy. I've had to make that decision twice now and it's a painful one. Saying good by to an old friend is never easy. You made the right choice, and the memories will live with you. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry for your loss and having to make that painful decision. It is excruciating, even when you know it is the right thing to do. RIP Scruffy.

So sorry for your loss, Reb. Later this month will mark one year since we had to put down our beloved dog, Lucky. I feel your pain and hope it eases for you with each passing day.

Thanks, boys. I figured you guys would be the ones that would understand, and I'm glad to say I was right. I'm sad but have a lot of great memories. We still have a cat, two other dogs and my wife just got two more rabbits which brings us to four. For now.

Sorry for the loss, but it sounds like you did the right things putting him down. Couldn't have been easy reb!
