First Fish of the Year!
My dad and I decided to hit the local reservoir for an hour or so after dinner tonight. Packed up a couple rods each and the spring staples and headed off.
My dad started with a jerkbait, while I started with the XCalibur Xr50 in Pearl Melon that I did pretty good on last spring. Not long after getting there, I hooked up with my first fish on the year. One of the biggest fish I've personally seen pulled out of this small reservoir. She was about 3 lbs 4oz and loaded with eggs. Maybe half a dozen casts later, I landed the second fish, slightly bigger than the average fish there. About 1lb 2oz. My dad switched over to a red Spro Aruku shad and quickly hooked up with one. And the last fish for the night. I didn't get a weight on it, but I'd say a little less than a pound. An average fish for the reservoir. I got all three of my fish along the same stretch of water, right after I ripped the crank out of the weeds. Hoping to get some time to go out tomorrow night too. BB

I like the way you subtly managed to get the new truck in the background of the last pic.
Looks like a good way to spend an hour....

What a way to break the ice for the year! Nice healthy looking bass for sure. Congrats!
