No Drag?
I went to put two of my old baitcasters on one of my new esox rod just to try out the rod and found that there was little or no drag on two of them.. at the end of the season i backed off the drag like your suppose to do.. what could be wrong... maybe i didnt back it off enough.. when i say old.. old from last season.. they are only used for 2 seasons.. what do you guys think?

I think the reels are a bass pro shop product just by the drag failure. I had to replace my drags that are 2 years old already. The drag washers are either too thin or too soft and they compress to where they don't work, or are very light at best.I had extra drag washers from the old Quantum professional round reels that fit it and work great. I did not want to order new drag washers from bass pro shop only to get the same junk as was in the reels. I had that happen on 6 bass pro shop reels. the only one that still works flawlessly is the Extreme reel and thats at least 4 years old now.Instant message me if you need help in repairing your reel.P N J

I sure could use the take-down instructions for the Rick Clunn BPS baitcaster ... if someone could make a copy for me or tell me where to get a PDF online that would be great. Email me if you have any info.

I have had 4 different bass pro shop reels have compressed drag washers, 2 were the Johnny Morris reels and 1 was a Rick Clunn reel and the other was the prolite finesse reel. The Etreme reel I have is fine. Future, I have 2 Procaster 6+1 reels left and they work as well as the day I bought them.Tom,I didn't think about if he had taken them apart or oiled them. That what makes this site great, different views that helps to eliminate the problem. P N J
