Default Long Day...

Bender brought the Stratos today and we did a 'lil fishin' out at my local lake, Bird Lake. To say the least, it was a slow day, although we did boat a few fish.

To start out the morning, we started casting jigs and shakey heads around outside weed edges and weed pockets, hopin' to pull out a few spawn/post-spawn bass. Only one, lost a few more.

As the day progressed, we used everything from drop-shots, to jerkabits, to cranks, to jigs, to small finesse senkos. Flippin' the mats with small jigs seemed to be the ticket, although I only caught one or two like thais, Bender got four or five at least. He did pull one monster 5" pumpkinseed out also!

At the end of the day, we had only two keepers, both around 15", only one pictured. Here she is:

Not a bad day. Glad you could make it out again, Bender...

I had a good time down there, it is a very different lake than those in this area since there is not really a break, it is just shore then deep. After I got home I went out on my lake and Brian caught a bunch of pike (where I told him they were and there were no bass there) and I got one bass just under 3 on a topwater...Then we poured baits until 5 and got up for work at 8....yes, a very long day. I look forward to getting back down to your area lakes again soon.

Buzzie hasn't taked you out on Mudson yet? There sure is some nice bass in there. My dad lost what would have been is PB. At least the 6+ pounder jumped 3 times and gave us a show before he threw the hook.

Oh, yeah, he's been to Mudson, Big. It was only about 50F when we went though. Oh, well...

Maybe after Alaska, ok, Bender? I also wanna hit Kent again too. Fun day that was.
