Default Flower lovers

O.k flower lovers, it aint a rose, but I growed em'. Actually my niece bought a easter lily for mama a couple years ago and I planted the bulbs after it died off. It didn't do so good last year, but it was dry. Looks pretty good this year even if it is a little late for easter.
(hope this works)

1/4 stick,

With a name like 1/4 stick it is hard to envision that you like flowers. In any event, the lily looks great. Just remember to water.

FYI - I just finished planting a whole bunch of annuals and several rose bushes. I will try to post a photo once they really start growing.

Hey, I'm single, pick a flower, give it to the lady. "Oh, how sweet. And it's so pretty too." To that I say, "If you think that's pretty you should check out all the different colors I have in my yard." Once ya get em to visit your yard on a warm day, there's cold drinks and ac in the house... I'm sure you're starting to get the picture.

I've tried my darndest to get roses to take and it's always the same thing. I get a rose or two, then it dies.

I've got some tomato plants in my flower boxes. They maybe won't produce, but they are growing and look nice (in my opinion).

i use the same tactic myself though my white and blue roses are not blooming yet..

i have a knack for growing them. which i likey learn from grownin a lot of herb in the past..

ya got to stop buyin rose bushes from walmart. the extra money ya spend in a nursury is worth it. roses take a while to grow and bloom well..

ok, roses need a few things to really take off. sun and water are a given. but you need to have a good draining system as well. too much water can kill em quick. and to have more blooms, you need to trim the blooms at the FIRST 5 leaf stem down from the bloom.everytime you trim it grows back and produces more buds. beautiful lily. pulled some on the side of the road around here and the wife planted them, purple and yellow. love the tiger lilies too. we bought our roses at wally world, never had a problem. bought some at big lots as well, no problems. takes sevendust, care, and love. yea, we like our flowers...GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT?!? LOL. ever heard of a confererate rose bush? mom has one and i am gonna get a cutting to plant at the new homesite next spring.

Zook - looks like you got a nice bunch of crab grass growin' there in the first pic. Do any yard work lately? How's that knee doin' other than keeping you from pushing the mower?

That's not crab grass, that's accent. Like at a florist you get the baby' breath and those big leaves in the bouqet. You know they tack on an extra 30, 40 bucks for that kind of stuff.

zooker, i cut the blooms right after they start dying. then another few come out. works on all my roses. they'll keep coming out. but yea... i cut them down to 12" every fall as well. oh and another thing that is great for roses is your fireplace ashes. good stuff there.
