The left one is a shallow jerkbait. Cast, retrieve 4-5 turns of the handle, then go to a jerk-jerk-pause......jerk-jerk-jerk-pause. Not sure if it will suspend or float, so watch it.

The hard baits in the middle pic are topwater. They'll float, so walk the dog with the top one, and jerk-jerk-pause (sound familiar?) with the bottom one. The soft bait is a grub, just thread it on a hook and retrieve.

With the worm in the last pic, fish it slow, but watch out for hangups. With exposed hooks, it's a lot more likely to hang than a regular T-rigged worm.

If I'm wrong, somebody correct me.

The worm alomst looks like the brand named worm that comes all pre rigged , i wonder if it is scented or not ?

Right on Missip. Top middle, I fish it like a devils horse, cast past your target (stump, wood, lay down, grass,etc..) and twitch it back just enough to get the props to turning and churning. It looks like a wounded bait fish. Good top water bait.

The third one is a pre-rigged worm, action and method of fishing it has absolutely nothing to do with other types of worms or rigging methods, you cast it, let it sink for a few seconds and reel it in steadily and very slowly, the bait slowily rotates when reeled in; it´s a killer bait and it has become a better killer bait because practically nobody fishes them anymore. Very "old school" bait.

I would think you would fair better on hangups if you drop shot the pre-rigged worm.

I WANT THE LURE IN THE MIDDLE ON TOP!!!!! love those, that is an OLD lure pal. is it made of wood? might be better to put that one up. go to wally world and get a devil horse. same thing, but that one there is old. will be worth more money in another 20 yrs.

The worm that is pre-rigged looks like a Jack Chancelor Do-Nothing worm. If it is, it was invented as a slow fall worm and Jack won several tournaments by casting out and basically slow falling the worm...then, as already said, would retrieve with a very slow retrieve........kinda the forerunner of slow falling and deadsticking. I don't think the original had a leader like in the picture, just the black line and loop to tie to. Also preceded the Slider fishing method if my memory serves me correctly. It's a very successful lure when fished properly.

A Devil's horse, a Spook and what looks like a Torpedo but with a cupped face. All topwaters and all work.

That pre-rigged worm looks like Jack Chancellor's Do-Nothing worm which was the first C-rig bait. He won the classic on it back in the early 80s if I remember correctly.

mr. photographer06. now you're just bragging pal, hahahaha. yea those are very rare baits nowadays. you really should put them in a shadow box buddy. or just give me directions to your house, hehehehe. i'll take REAL good care of them lures for ya. but seriously, you shouldn't use those until you get REAL good at throwing others first. if you lost one, it would break your heart 20 years later. i know, i did that to alot of my grandfathers lures. lost all of them by the age of 16. do not do what i did pal. buy new ones.

sorry, couldn't resist. you should put them lures up, and don't use them. I'd find out what they were and look em up on eBay to see how much they're worth. We've got a couple antique lures worth a bit, and one over $500.

Beneath the Devil´s horse ( the minnow with two props ) on the second pic of the first set there´s what resembles very closely a Fred Arbogast Sputterbug ( nowdays called sputerbuzz ) with a grub hooked where the skirt is supposed to go. You can work that one as a prop bait like a torpedo or like a buzzbait, I have three of those oldies and they are very good baits for me, only problems are the skirt replacement availability, they are difficult to find and since they are made of living rubber they tend to become dry and brittle over time.

the odd looking top one is a johnny rattler that is the pre 80's verison of there spotted frog-stoped that color in late 80's and went with the currant one-

second one down NOT a devils horse but a "nip-l-diddee" mid 80's paint-perch color- not made in that color since 91.

the spook lookin one.i need a picture of the tail hook mount. the spooks have always been a screw in on the rear.-never seen a stir-up mount on a spook- have a couple ideas but will wait for pic..

bottom one is a leapord frog color -it was a poplar color thru the 90's- i am have a brain fart and cant rember who makes the popper with a prop..

Zook, the propbait is most definitly not a nip i didee. I have seen, I think 2 variations on a devils horse that being the more rare one. I have one just like it in my topwater box with the rounded props and fatter body, on the underside it says "devils horse".

Nip i didees were originally made by south bend, sometimes under the name spin i didee and they are much more fat bodied than that. They are now made bu luhr jensen and yes most of the colors are different from what they did make. The only reason I know all this is cause its my dads favorite lure all time and he has me scouring the internet for nip i didees in the jim pfeiffer color. He also has me on a crusade for Paw Paw aristocrat shiners in white with sparkle or black. Hold on to the stuff you fished as a kid, if nobody else wants it when you are older you sure as hell will.

now you pointed it out brother love your right. the nip is a tad fatter. the older devils horse i have seen is the big long jobby with 3 trebles and are kinda pointy. belive they are the mid 40-50 verison..

paw paw aristcrate?? dam!!! that IS a crusade...

btw i looked at my catalog of old spooks-reaching back into the 30's- and i am right none had a stir-up hook mount on the tail..

I disagree. I dont think they are particularly valuable past being good lures. I could be wrong, but there are lots of lures like those out there.
