Default Still shouldnt have..

well after my buddy broke his berkley rod .. i got good reviews.. well i bought one for my sigma shakespere.. well it snapped today before i had a chance to put it in the water to fish.. a few cast just for b/s .. i'll get a repair kit but will eventually need a new rod.. berkley will never get another dollar from me.. it broke while i was lining it.. i pulled the line down and the drag gave a little and the top two line guides broke off.. i snipped it down to the top of the third.. i'll cut it below it and repair it next week..

no more berkley for me

Mr.P, I wouldn't even bother trying to fix a rod like that, just get a new one, or a better one. Although adding a new tip isn't that hard, so if you want the rod for further use, go ahead and fix it.

Go with a St. Croix Triumph or Premier. Great rods at a great price.

A poor man can only afford to buy the best.

That being said and even though many are going to recommend lots of lower end priced rods I strongly suggest you getting something in the $70+ mark.

Weird, me and my family have been using "Lightning Rods" forever. I just got a new one the other day 6' medium heavy action that I just recently caught a 4+ ft carp on (Not on purpose) Never had a problem with them. That's certainly not to say there aren't better rods out there, but it's always been "Lightning Rods" or "Ugly Sticks" for me.
