Hey Gang,

Going to Bass Pro this weekend and gonna let the Bait Monkey run. I'm looking for a scale and was looking at a select few, but wanted your opinions first.

IMO the XTOOLS one is much better, although it is a little more expensive

I have the Berkeley and love it BUT I wish I had seen the xtool one. I like the gripper with it. The Berkley is tough to keep a really wiggly fish on that open hook. The hook is rather thick too, so weighing smaller fish (my specialty) is tough. You usually have to use the hook on their gills or else they flop off. You don't hurt the fish since the hook is so blunt.

I think I am going with the X-Tools for three reasons.

1) It looks better in quality
2) It has a Boga Grip rather than having to penetrate the fishes mouth with that "hook"
3) It floats

May be expensive but it looks like it will last. In that regard the floating part pertains to me especially....
