Default Okuma / Shimano swimbait rods

Hey Lads,

Does anyone have any experience with the Okuma line of rods? I am looking at their swimbait rod and it seems reasonably priced at a little over $100.

Here's a link:

Also, any experience with the Shimano Crucial line of swimbait rods? I am looking to throw some of the smaller swimbaits (less than 6") in the Florida tidal rivers where I live for bass and redfish.

thanks very much, Amarillo

I have an Okuma 7' MH, not sure why I got it. I used it for jigging last weekend and really like it though. My Crucial is for drop shotting so I can't comment on a normal rod.

Yep, I have one. Handles swimbaits real well, good rod for the price. I'd recommend it. Mine will handle a swimbait up to 2 ozs. I got that size because I seriously doubt I'll ever throw a swimbait bigger than that.

Forgot to mention that the Okuma has 10 Alconite guides + tip, which is more than most of my 7' rods.
