First off all welcome to the site man lots of great guys around here . T-rigged worms cranks and spinners go well for me in the spring with some jigs thrown in sparingly .
Jim

as jim said welcome to the site pal. this is the best place to learn about fishing....period. as for the best bait to use in springtime......boy, where do you start. i mean it can be the topwater baits like pop-r's, spooks, buzzbaits, hula popers, frogs. the list goes on and on. then ya got spinnerbaits, cranks and such. also i love the lizards and worms and like jim sadi again, jigs. for you to get a very good choice of bait, we need to know which lake and the water temp, clarity and such. are you fishing from the bank, or a boat? the more infomation you can give us the better we can help you friend.
i know absolutly nothing about duck hunting, so i would need to tell you everything there is in my part of the country to get you an idea of what i would need for you to help me. understand? i hope so. anyway, welcome to the site pal. ask ANYTHING and NEVER feel like you are asking a stupid question. even though we have heard the same thing a thousand times, YOU have not. we will help you as much as we can. that is what we are here for. no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers. we won't do that to ya bud. again, welcome to the site....enjoy it.

Welcome to the site, 3d.
Bama, I actually did hear a stupid question the other day. A guy at work asked if I could see the ocean when I was on vacation. I was in Las Vegas....... But you're right, no stupid questions in fishing.

I agree with bama, if the water is clear I love top water in early spring, baby bass spook is my favorite. If the water is dirty a blade or rattle trap, if I'm focused on a small area a small jig.

i heard of greer but cant put in on a map by the lakes.... i fish Murray and Clark Hill a lot.... if you want to catch fish RIGHT NOW (during the cold front) throw a shaky head to catch fish..... throw it near a point that has a rocky drop off....... big fish- jigs
spinnerbaits will probably be a good choice too...... when it warms up the bait will probabbly start comin up again so you can catch em on anything...... i havent been on murray in a couple weeks and i havent been on clark hill in forvever b/c its down so much...... but when we fished our tourney durin a cold front and the bait went down.... it was on top the day before....... we caught em fishin finesse..... wish i could of gone last week when it was warm for a week.... the bait definaltey would of been on top and gettin chased

3D Hunting, like Bama said, there are a bunch of good guys here that know alot about bass fishin' and we like to inform and recommend tips and techniques to newcomers and each other.
Tell us what kind of fishing experience you've got and what level you would like to take it to. Do you want to hear about relaxing ways to spending a nice sunny spring day and catch some bass; or do you want to know how to learn how to fish in really stormy weather 'cause that's when the big'uns bite best. Anyway, welcome aboard from one fellow hunter to another. Hookset |
