Diamond Drive Marshal experience w/ pics.
I just got home from the Diamond drive in AR. It was the best $100 dollars I've ever spent on fishing. The first day I went out with James Strickland. He knew the area well and fished hard all day. I learned a few flipping techniques from him. Day 2 I drew Gerald Swindle. This guy is a class act and wants the marshal to enjoy the day. He had me laughing all day and taught me more about fishing in 8 hours than I ever dreamed possible. Day 3 I drew Matt Reed. Awesome guy with a ton of experience. After a slow start and lock issues he got into a flurry of action. He boated a limit of 15 inch fish with some solid 3lbers in under 15 min. I learned a great deal about graphs and various other techniques with him. If anyone has the chance to marshal a bass event I highly recommend it. Here are some pics from my trip. The guy in Reese's boat is my dad loading it. Dkeys

It is on my 2 do for '12. Thanks for sharing with us Keys. Now hand over the 411 on some of the stuff you learned.

This is always something that I have wanted to do... it is on my to do list in the next couple of years... on another note, I wish the elite series would move a little further north sometime soon.

Sounds like you had a great time. Being a marshal is something I really want to do. I almost signed up for this event but I want to do it on a lake rather than a river because I think I would learn more stuff that is useful to me. I have met Swindle before and your right, he is a class act and is one of the funniest people I have ever been around.

I was hoping that they were coming back to Kentucky Lake this year so that I could sign up but they did not. Maybe next year! I cannot imagine the information that can be learned from a day on the lake with one of these guys! Sounds like an experience of a life time!

If they come within 7 hours of me next year I'm going again.
