I like my revo s for flipping, I can't afford an stx right now. I really like the citica as well, it is pretty much the same reel minus two bearings, and I believe those are the handle bearings (where the grips meat the handle).

All the reels mentioned so far are solid choices. I wouldn't mind using any of those already mentioned. For your price you can get 2 S' and just about 2 citicas.

I know that most people like a high speed reel for flippin/pitching, but if you don't mind a low speed reel with a lot more power, look at the Revo Winch. The US Reels Supercaster 1000 is also a great reel. It has a lot of innovative features. At first, it is a little funky cuz the reel spools backwards with the line going under the spool, and the eye wind leveler is a bar that moves up and down, but it as an AWESOME reel for under $200

yeah, I just got one for my flippin stick. I have only used it for a week, but so far, it's pretty nice. It will flip a jig underhand a good ways. It seems to be made solid too.

I think one of the best reels on the market is the Daiwa Zillion. Try to find one on ebay and you should be able to get one for around 200. You can't go wrong with a different Daiwa though.

Other than that, Abu Garcia Revo SX or STX are good, although I've heard there isn't much difference between the two.

Shimano Curado or Citica. I have the citica and it's a great reel for 120 bucks. And I don't believe the extra bearings on the curado are inthe handle. 5-6 bearings going in the reel on most baitcasters, then the rest go to the handle. I could be wrong about the curado though. One thing though, I could tell the citica only had three ball bearings compared to some reels that have 5-6 in the reel.

You can also look at quantum and pflueger and BPS reels.

i use a revo sx for flipping and i love it. the drag is crazy smooth which is a plus when needed but it has 24lbs of drag power which is a lot of stopping power for flipping.
