August 2nd Report
My Saturday charter canceled and so we sent out feelers to fill the seats. One taker.
A long time IHC customer and outdoor writer Bill May. Bill and I would fish alone (his request was that I fish and he would take pictures and write a story) Capt Mike had a last minute cancellation and now I had a crew of two with Capt Mike getting to fish. Fishing was slow but the company good, as Bill told fishing stories of years past. Later it got better, and the lower the tide got, the better the fishing got (hey...three gots in one sentence). And as the shadow hour came on, so did the fish. Capt Mike was in the POP R ZONE and the fish didn't stand a chance. Finally tonight we scored a big snakehead. Great night. We had an adult beverage to celebrate. Capt Dave

I know they're an invasive species, but they sure do look like they'd be a blast. I catch Bowfin, and they are fun, so ...

Question do you catch more than one sub species of snakehead since several are here.
And is there any relationship with the african lungfish? They look a lot alike. |

The only snakehead species in the Eastern Waters are the the Northern species since they can tolerate cold winters.
Bowfin is the closest relative fish that looks like them. Capt Mike
