Cranky & Recon
Hey guys!
Well unfortunatly I am posting here because we caught 0 fish. We only had about an hour and a half to fish, as Cranky and family were just here for a quick weekend, and had alot of fun to pack into few days. I managed 2 bites, and stuck one, but couldnt boat him. Cranky had one bite. The weather had turned cold, was about 53 degrees, down for the lower 80s, but we had little wind, a blessing. I must say what a pleasure it was to meet such a nice young man, and his dad was an awesome guy!! Heres a few pics! out fishing!!! Coming back in! Recon & Cranky Cranky never ridden a 4 wheeler before......he gets to take a spin!! Cranky and my son Blake(6yrs old) goin for a spin!! Although the time was short, We had a great time. I wish they could have spent the entire day. I am sure Cranky will have some pics as well. What a fantastic thing for an Easter Sunday, meeting a new fishing buddy!! Recon

Always fun to meet up with fellow board members and fish. Sorry about the donut, but it has been tough fishing this weekend with the cold spell. I did manage a snook, redfish, and flounder for dinner Sat, tonight, and tommorrow though, and a couple of bass mixed in. Glad you had fun, I might come down and fish with ya sometime in the near future, if you can stand another guest that is LOL.

Heck yeah man come on down. I really think if we could have hit it first thing in the am, of right before dark we could have done better, but it was still great to meet this young guy.
Head on this way anytime, beers always cold and the Grill is always hot!

Ah, yep... Well we did Zero out, but that's fishing for ya. Thanks a lot Recon, I enjoyed it. Besides, I learned a ton... How to tell water clarity, how to flip (which I REALLY have to work on) and circle hook fishing. It was a good experience, and hey, it was better than not fishing. I blame that dang cold front... Killed the fishing like crazy. The 4-wheeler was just crazy... I pesstered my dad for hours, but no I can't have one... Ah well. You have a fantastic family and have been a great host. Thanks again!
I did manage one bass on the lake we were staying at... Woke up at 5, but was too cold so I fished at 6. heard a splash, casted my wacky rigged bearpaw hippe stick at it, and got it... what stinks is I used my spinning rod to get it right where i wanted it, because my baitcasting aim is horrible. So I have yet to catch a fish on my baitcaster... Just our luck... cold front right when we came in. Felt like jersey!!! Pics when they are finished uploading, along with stoies. JB- don't be giving me ideas... My dad would be ticked if that came true.

Haha no, they are not camera shy, they just werent there. I'll see If I can dig up any pics from sea world with them in it.
Anyways, pics are uploaded. I woke up Sunday thinking wow it's cold I won't land a thing. Three casts, thansk to bearpaws baits, and I have my first bass of 07. Pretty much equal to my PB. The Idea was to fissh this boat shelter, because it was right behind our cabin. Looked like good cover to me... later in the day, you all know I fished with Recon Now, Recon is probably the best flipper FL has ever seen... it is just ridiculous. He will hit any spot with a flip. We fished junebug senkos, and he hooked me up with a hat full of baits... Beats a pot of gold, IMO. We didn't catch any fish but hooked a few. Still a great learning experience. Then I wen't to Sea World. So, I told myself I will not leave FL without beating my PB... didn't happen, but whatever. I fished 9-11 at night. Lesson learned? NEVER baitcast at night Couldn't see my reel to pick out backlashes, and I had many. Saturday mornign woke up at 5 again. It was freezing but this time i was really wanting to catch fish. 50 degrees... rainstorm. I heard plenty of bass, saw one swim by, saw a few jumpers. Unfortunately I had a backlash almost every cast, because I couldn't see the lure fly and had no idea when to stop the lure. Shoulda used spinning... anyway it rained from about 7-8. Of course I fished thru it... And the fruit of fishing from 5-10 notice how I am soaked. We then hit disney... where I found out I was indeed a total fishing addict. I lost my parents for half an hour because I decided to stay by the ond and stare at the bluegills while they wandered off... Notice the pics I take at Disney Nemo: Catch and Release I respect this man ont he line to Small World I felt like crying after watchign these guys pull in 2 bass in like 10 minutes.

Nice Pics. Sounds like you learned alot. There are times where you learn more when the fishing is off than when it is good. But it is not near as fun!

Those are some nice fish guys. I am going to Orlando the second week of September for a softball tournament at the wide world of sports. Hopefully i can get out there a little early and do a little fishing, too. Sorry you guys didn't catch anything.

Thanks guys
Yeah, Zook, I did fish the lily pads like mad. That small bottom left corner area I fished a lot. See the blue cabin? That is where we stayed. caught the bass on the leftmost point on the bank.
