Default Times of the year to fish

Sorry but I am curious (I'm a kid, so I have to be curious, it's my job!) but what kinds of times of the year are the best times to fish for bass? I doubt that right now is the best time during March to go bass fishing, where they are all still lethargic and slow.

Actually, depending on where you are, and how experienced you are, spring can be the best season!

Yep. Anytime you can get on the water.

Spring is best for size. Most of the big girls are caught then because they come up shallow to spawn. The fall is also good-fish feeding up for the cold months ahead.

Ha, I went fishing a few hours ago (I live in the center of Indiana) and I caught nothing but a sun fish. Oh and I am pretty darn inexperienced at fishing, because I quit after catching only one sunfish and getting 3 lines confused with each other. I cut the lines, and it seemed to only go on the spool forever.

so you cut the line and let it just go into the water cause you got confused? if it was a break off its ok but if you cut it for that reason, why? any ways, try some nightcrawlers or the meal worms those work awesome. you guys dont have ice? we still have some ice and im in the east central illinois, REPRESENTIN!

Also, I went around the whole pond, with two docks on it because of local neighbors (they let me on it as long as I clean up after myself) and saw absolutely NO fish whatsoever

to ILfishinman, I cut the line because there were 3 ends of the line coming out of my spool, so I got confused, and it took to much time to get it fixed because I kept trying to find the source, so I have to respool it sooner or later. Besides, my friend and I were fishing when that happened, so he just asked if I wanted to airsoft instead. That ended my day with 1 sunfish, fun huh?

oh i thought you meant the differnt poles you cut the line from cause they got tangled, usually if you pull enought out of those they will come undone. its the spiinning equivalnet to a backlash, you got the line twisted a lil too much is all.

too much, how long has it been since the line was changed on the reels? if its years you should look into respooling if your serious about catching bass. go to walmart or somethign and get some trilene 8-10 lb test and that should be good for now.

I'm guessing all the fish are burrowed into a hole somewhere in the center of the pond I fish at?

Ah, one of my friends who also likes to fish says that I should wait till the first of April to fish because he knows I'm not an experienced fisherman. Also, he said that I should wait till the for the first full week that's warm or when my crab apple tree blooms. Are these tips right?

I like the topwater bite of summer. What is the earliest time of year you northerners have caught bass with a buzzbait?

Last year I caught an 8'' bass in late March, I think it was March the 19th. But, I didn't use a buzzbait, I used a spinnerbait.
