strike king jigs

I bought three strike king jigs a while back in a few different colors. I didn't have a seperate box for the jigs, so for about a week I left them in the bag with the trailers. After about a week I opened the bag and found that all three rubber bands were broken on the jigs. Was it just me or do most strike king jig's rubber bands break really easily? I don't think I'm gonna buy strike king again, just so I don't have to dea with the mess.

All rubber bands break easily IMO, went fishing today and had a buzzbait rubberband break along with a Jig rubberband, and a spinnerbait rubberband. I thought about this after the fact, but I'm gonna try the Pro's Soft bait glue on the skirts to see if that works to keep them in place, instead of the rubberband. If anyone has had any experience with this please let me know.

take a twist tie from the packs of garbage bags and take the paper off it and then wrap it around the skirts and then your problem is fixed

they use them on the pike and musky lures down here so a spinnerbait doesnt last you just one fish

never had one break on me, own several of them. Rubberbands do break though, its inevitable.

i really have never had any bad expieriences with strike king jigs or spinnerbaits or anything with a rubbed band. I mostly use terminator or war eagle spinnerbaits so i dont have that problem there, but i do use there jigs when im not using them i keep them in individual medicine bottles (you now the ones that pills come in) and i haven't had this problem. So try it. Everything with a rubberband will break after a while but if you leave them outside or some thing it only speeds up the process, if you keep them in something it SLOWS it way down.

I use Manns Stone Jigs or Cabelas Jigs. Both held up well, stone jig is a bit better

if you use the wire like i said up above the skirting never falls apart

if it can stand up to northren pike and musky it will last against any size bass

i take mini plastic tie wraps and go around every skirt rubberband on every jig and spinnerbait.you will never loose a skirt if you do this.it's the same idea as the wire tie.

PB, Even plastic trailers have alot of salt in them. Keep the jig hooks in a separate bag than your trailers , or the hook will corrode or rust on you.I don't know what the answer is to the skirt problem. Maybe if everyone who had trouble with them complained to the company, they would solve the problem ? P N J

Pig & Jig is correct. Don't place jigs w/ trailers attached. Been there done that.

alot of the bands breakl easily usually cause of quick climate change which sucks cause most of the time that cant be helped. and yes...this happens to me too.

Good I dea there bass kicker. Never thought of that idea with the ties. Gotta file that one away for future use.

yeah, they break alot for me, i think it's extreme temperature that does it.

laser we use that on the spinnerbaits down here when fishing for pike and musky and it works great
