Crankbait setup
Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about putting together a dedicated cranking rig for under $200. I am leaning toward the Abu Garcia Orra 2 Wench on a Lew's David Fritts Perfect Crank glass/graphite rod in a 6'6" or 7'. I was going to go with 10lb Berkley Sensation mono for line and might try their new line of hard baits. Any comments on this or do you have a setup you would recommend? Thanks MO

If your going with 10lb test then Nanofil is a better choice.
I personally like a fiberglass rod for cranks or a graphite with a very fast tip. Capt Mike

I have a crank bait setup which I love. If's a 7 foot St Croix Premier crank bait specific rod, moderate action, paired with a BPS Pro Qualifier reel in 5.2:1 ratio, paired with 12 pound P-Line Flouroclear. That outfit has been a real joy to use over the years. I actually have two, one with a 6'6" rod. That would set you back about $130.00. I grabbed one of the new Berkley crank baits a couple weeks ago and am giving it a work out in the morning. Sorry, I can't really comment on your rod and reel suggestions as I am not familiar with them. But considering your looking at Garcia and Lew's products, I'm sure you would probably be pleased with them.
