Bowl Games
Northwestern Vs. Auburn may have not been a well played game, but it was as exciting of a bowl game as I have seen in a couple of years.

Not impressed with auburns mental game. In fact, should I say it? They played like idiots. They have a better school than that.
Watching Coach Bowden right now. |

Agreed, they played some really dumb defense. A face mask on a 4th down sack, roughing the kicker at the end.
But, those are some of the things that kept it exciting and had me watching until the end. I am now toggling between WVU vs FSU and LSU vs Penn State

I agree with you Zooker. The Penn St/LSU was a great game.
Ohio St/Oregon is pretty good right now as well.

Anyone see how much of a fight Cincy is giving Florida?

That's too bad. It's a heck of a rebound game for florida though.

Ohio State left me pleasantly surprised, they really controlled the ball and didn't let Oregon have it long enough to rack up a bunch of points.
I sure wish Cincy had done better, but I figured this might happen when they go up against a big team like Florida. |

Well that just goes to show that the SEC teams are just way ahead of the big 10 (except LSU of course)

How do you figure? Florida blew out a team from the Big East (big deal), and Auburn beat a B10 team in overtime. As it looks now the ACC is taking it to the SEC

It looks like the Big 10 is 3-2, with both losses combined by 4 points. We still have Iowa and Michigan State to play. I think the conference is doing pretty good this year especially since the 2 wins were the biggest games so far.

Their biggest mistake was forcing Phillip Fulmer into retirement.

Whatever anyone says about Fulmer look at his career record. He can't help it if he doesn't have the talent to work with.
And what does that say about a ball club if they force retirement on a veteran coach then fire their new coach a year later because of one losing season. Stability and a little talent is the key to victory in football. Look at Florida what major staff changes have they made in the past few years? You are right though WTL, UT is falling behind. They go from being BCS championship contenders, to a team that can't even keep a game going in their favor.

Pretty slow game going on down at the Cotton Bowl.
Ole Miss is about to score though. Nevermind they did just score. 13/7 ole miss over OSU pending extra point. WOW Ole Miss just returned a forced fumble for a touchdown. Most likely winning the ball game. 21/7 Ole Miss.

2 points on fulmer;
He had plenty of talent and If he didn't, it was his fault. It is Tennessee. He was known first as a recruiter. Fulmer wasn't fired for 1 season. The stench of a rotten program was surrounding Knoxville since at least 2005. They just picked a juvenile to replace Fulmer. He wouldn't even shake Beamer's hand the other night, mad cause the vols lost. |

I'm not condoning what Kiffin did, it was a sleazy thing to do. He should know at his age to respect the other man across the field from him. But look at our QB position Crompton lets every little thing get to him, and no matter what Kiffin does the offense just can't stay on the same page. Another thing is that Tennessee is lacking leadership. We have talent on the defensive side of the ball but not the coaching that is effective at the college level. I'd be willing to bet that Tennesse will be back to where they should be in about 2 years. You are right that Fulmer's primary job as head coach is to recruit, and in the few years that lead to his "retirement" he did slack on that part of his job.

I can really understand the frustration with Crompton. Its not as simple as he lacked talent, he really could make all the throws. He played much better late in the year. He just had something mental going on.
Tennessee will get back eventually, one way or another. We did. But yall might be wandering in the wilderness, like we did, for a few more years than you would like. |

Watching Ark/ECU go into OT now. While I am all for technology, do we really need the e-coin? WTH?!
