Barrel Swivel vs. Crane Swivel
What is the difference between Barrel Swivels & Crane Swivels besides the obvious appearance?

One probably spins a bit better, and therefore, probably costs more. But the best kind of swivel is a ball bearing swivel, like you see on almost every decent spinnerbait.

If you look closely at a crane swivel compared to a barrel swivel, the wire loops are made inside the barrel, instead of outside it. This means a crane swivel can not get wrapped up in the line. It is also more expensive because of this, like BB144 said.
