Fishing the slop
A lot of weeds now in my favorite bass lake. I have to clean the hook everytime but its worth it. I catch a lot of 1 to 3 pounders in here. And everynow and then 5 plus pounders. There have been days when I've caught 50 or 60 bass in just a couple hrs, but not so much now that the weeds have made fishing a little tougher...at least during the day. Its all fun though. I swear by the slurpee worm wacky rigged with no weight. I havent been skunked yet this year using that!!

Every catch is a good catch. Interesting wacky rigging that worm with that hook....I'll have to try that sometime

Wow wacky on that big of a hook? I have done that before in a pinch.
Ever try a small circle or octopus hook for the wacky?

That water looks great, I too would try dragging a frog through there. You are really fortunate to have such a great place nearby. |

Thats a number 3 hook. Ive always used that size for bass fishing and have never had any troubles. Ive never even heard of a circle or octopus hook before. Thats a new thing I learned today I guess, I'll check it out. |

Nice! I was going to say that looks like some of the places around here and then I looked and it is around here. There are a bunch of small bodies of water in Vilas county and in the area that are just loaded and untouched where you can just catch them on every cast all day long.

It gets like that all over the place in the northern part of the state. We have a real slop hole not far from the house. I won't fish there because the fish are extremely lure shy. The water is so clear, it's like looking through glass.

Ok, Chris, what are Friday's mega million numbers? Never had a Leinenkugel in my life. Got home from work today, sunburnt, sore, exhausted after only 4 hours of sleep last night, and I almost trip over a Leine summer sampler 12 pack, and the newest book from my favorite author. All from my eau claire friend Picture Pesci in The Super "Women who've only slept with me once, never get over it!". Hey, when ya got it, ya got it.
