Default Topped 800 and caught a nice one.

Went to a neighborhood pond for about an hour today to see if I could catch the last 11 fish I need to break 800 fish on the year before the end of April. I ended up at 806, all fish on a Ned Rig with a watermelon red Zinker. This fish was number 795, scale's broke after trying to weigh a flathead Monday but I'm guessing around 6.

Congrats on another great bass and also on surpassing the 800 mark! What is a "Ned Rig"?

Ned rig is a rig and technique developed by In-Fisherman Field Staff member Ned Kedhe. It's also called midwest finesse tactics. Basically it's a half a Z-man Zinker on a small jighead, 1/16th oz in this case, fished in a variaty of different ways until the fish tell you what they want. You can find info on if from the interenet and give it a try, it's very effective when normal stuff fails.

Thanks for the info and congrats on the 800 so early in the year... heck I probably don't catch 800 in 2 years.

Nice haul! I wouldn't flinch at a #6 guess. I say good call.
