I say run the poll again and see if the percentages have changed. Companies have been bought and sold and some have changed thier emphasis and some are now made elsewhere.
So lets run it again.

i guess that i as still antiquated about reels. i still use 5500c's. they are just a work horse. just like a timex, they take a lickin' and just keep on ticking. if you were like me and learned to throw a bait caster on an old shakespeare president, and i am talking about the old ones that the reel handle spun around on the cast, all the new fangled braking systems and what not would be meaningless. a very educated thumb solves all the backlash problems.

Hey bo I have a ton of respect for the old ways. I understand that a bass holding tight to a stump in a pad field hasn't got the slightest clue how the frog he's about to smash was presented to him or by whom. I understand that when you finally cross Jordan and your family is standing around talking about your life, they will comment on how much you loved fishing and what joy it brought to you. I know that's all that really matters but..........................even though I don't know you at all, will probably never meet or fish with you and I've got some lint in my belly button that is more important to me than what reels you like or use.............I implore you.............just for the Hell of it.............buy a Curado 200E, open the left sideplate, set 3 in and 3 out, set the spool tension and take that puppy fishin.

Bo, keep in mind that at one time the 5500 was the new kid on the block, it had all the bells and buttons and was the reel that all the cool kids wanted. There were probably a group of hardcore cane pole fisherman sitting around saying much the same things you just said.

Time marches on.
