Lightbulb Bait monkey has released me...

..into the arms of it's uncle. The Silveryak Gorilla!

I've been plannin all winter to snag an SOT fishin Yak and I've finally decided on the Ascend FS12T.

http://www.basspro.com/Ascend-FS12T-...13830/-1759668

I was thinkin of headin to BPS and picking it up during the Spring Classic, but since BPS is 4 hours away, I did the math, and I'd only save 40 bucks by driving down instead of having it shipped.

BUT................I just saw today, that if I put $600 on my BPS card, in store, during the classic, I get $100 in bonus bucks!

$91 more dollars to go.......easy as pie!

Just go to the store and get it - that way the Monkey can beat you down some more.

If your going to the Auburn Hills BPS be aware to not go on the weekend if you can aviod it. I was there 2 weekends in a row and could not even park near the place.

Yep, I'll probably be going on a weekday. Currently laid off for a bit yet, so no sense doing it on a weekend

I work 5 min.from there, its a mad house - I think cabin fever has a lot to do with it. We have been hit with a lot of snow in the last 2 weeks.

I've always wanted to get a kayak in addition to the jon boat but I always wondered about retrieve posture.

Since you're always sitting in a yak, is it kinda awkward when retrieving certain types of baits in the sitting position? I'm just always use to standing.

Those FS12T's look awesome! I've seriously considered getting one for the last year. I just can justify it logistically, no where to store it in my 1 bedroom apartment.

That's a nice Kayak; will it accommodate a trolling motor?

As we speak I'm trying to convince myself to head up to BPS but I was there 2 weeks ago and I had to park down by that Toby Keith place, what a nuthouse....

Keith, I can't wait either! I'm already coming up with things I wanna do to it!

BBD, it's not really that awkward. I was fishing from a boat very similar to BPS Bass Prowlers, and stood up most of the time while fishing. From a yak, it's different, but not as awkward as I was expecting. And this was fishing from a normal sit in yak. I expect it will be even easier from an SOT.

JRob....hang it from the ceiling!

Jeremy, you can mount a TM, although it would take a mount, or some ingenuity. But they're not needed. On my Bass Prowler type boat, I had a 30# TM....kayaks smoked me...

Walker.....that sucks! What's up with that???

Way to go Mallen!

I think I might be looking into getting a kayak sometime this summer if I can get a job.

Can't wait to see the pics of the fish you catch from it!

I bought a yak couple months ago. I'm itchin' to try it out. Have it all set up, just need to add one of the sonars from my big boat that is getting replaced by the Humminbirds.
I'm thinking the X-135 will be going on the kayak. Mine is a Hobie Outback, I wanted the pedal drive for both a little exercise and the ability to use both hands for fishing rather than paddleing. Should be a load of fun.
