Default My new ride

Well, Bubba opened the can o' worms so I thought I'd post pics of my "new" baby.

Very clean and well taken care of 94 Champion 201 with a Mariner 225. I haven't gotten to do much tweaking yet but according to my iPhone GPS it'll run 70 with the 4 blade prop on it. That was with me, full load of gas (30 gal) and all my gear. And yes, I WILL drive that fast at times

Here's a few pics. I really love the fact that someone filled in the deck with more storage. Carpet doesn't match but thats no biggie in the grand scheme of things.

Very nice Lowrider. I have no doubt she will do 70 with a four blade. My dad has a 96 ranger 397 with a Mariner 175 and she will do 63 with a four blade. That has been a very good motor for him and he has had very little problem with it...you know normal maintenance, water pump, impeller, lower unit and etc. I bet it will serve you well.

Trophy 25p 4 blade that by all accounts should be a Tempest Plus 3 blade. Motorguide 71lb troller and little Humminbirds on front and back. I'm pretty sure my motor is sitting a tad low but I just haven't had the time to raise and check it. The closest lake to me really isn't big enough for a long run so I gotta make time to get it all done. As strong as the old Mariner seems, it oughta run out pretty good.

The real kicker on this rig is that being as old as it is, the carpet is original and its in great shape. It looks like it's been stored indoors all it's life. Like most used boats, the seats need recovering but that's it. Mechanically everthing works.

And Bama, that deck is huge. I can lay my 7 foot rods in the tie downs and they don't touch the fronts of the consoles. Room to move is an understatement.

Lowrider where did you get that boat? We used to have a local pro around that was given the name Cheeseburger and he drove a boat exactly like that for a very long time. For all I know he may still use that same boat but that one looks a lot like it.

Kudos! I love the size of the deck, thats the only thing my boat lacks.

Happy Fishing.

Nothing like getting a new boat to you, regardless of how old it is.
It has a large deck ,even without that extra added, fairly decent ride for rough water, runs fast enuff for practical purposes, faster would req more gas and hp,so often are not needed. Its getting there and getting back that count, however the trophy is the better prop.Enjoy the new to you ride, its a good choice of a boat, that should serve you well.

Nice Champ.. I own a 95 204 w 200xri and love it. Get the tempest prop, I gained 8mph over the prop that came with the boat. will run 63 with me and half of bass pro shop on board.
