Default Unwelcome Suprise on the Line

Not me but a video making its way around. Not gonna lie, if that had been me I would have needed a new set of underwear and a new place to swim.

Not Safe For Work - Language.....but very well deserved.

That would definately cause a need to change your shorts! Perfect timing by the guy with the camera.

Awesome video, reminds me of the movie Jaws in that when you least expect it - BAM there it is. Most likely a bull shark as they are known to go up rivers that empty into the sea. Scary to think about swimming in water that's connected to the ocean, you never know what's in it. I'm not a swimmer, but when I get in the water it's a pool, but I'm still warry as I've heard stories about pool sharks.

Un-freaking-believable! HUGE!

That would definitely be a "soil yourself" moment.

Thankfully they got it on video. Otherwise, nobody would ever believe a tale like that.

That was awesome. So is this an area where fresh and salt water meet? I would not have needed a new pair of boxers, but you can bet I won't be swimming in that water any time soon.

It looked like a bull shark. What do you guys think?

Bull sharks are known to travel 100's of miles up rivers from the ocean. I have no idea if that's what was in the video but it certainly makes sense.

One good reason to stay out of the water.

Tiger sharks travel into fresh water as well. In fact, a Tiger shark was caught in the Mississipee river near St Louis. But that does look like a bull shark.

This took place somewhere around Myrtle Beach I believe. I've been watching it all week, commentary is great.

That's exactly why I rarely fish in the rain.

Good vid thanks Panthrosan.

The rain makes good cover when you piss your pants!

Says near myrtle beach, but looks exactly like a lot of the little streams that run inland on SC's coast (say edisto). Saw this last week and it's awesome.

I grew up going to the outer banks for a week or two at the time, and its never bothered me knowing there were sharks out there, because they ARE out there. You should see people reaction when you catch two foot sharks off the beach, they freak out when you put them back. The 6 footers are even funnier when you see the people's reaction. Sharks leave people alone 99.99999% of the time.
