I have had good luck with a 4 inch green pumpkin Yamamoto Hula Grub Texas rigged. So far this year it has been my top bait for big fish. I have now caught 4 fish over 5 lbs...........from the bank! Needless to say, i will be sticking with it. But I would also go with a white/red spinnerbait with colorado blade or any dark colored senkos.

Patchino, the Yamamoto Hula Grub is my "go to" bait for smallmouths.
