Default muddy water quiz..

now fishing in muddy water is a chore in the spring. seein water temps are cold. the bass need to be hit in the head to make them bite.

it is quiz time
lets get some muddy water like this..
we refure to this color as peanut butter-the perfect color for this lake..

best baits to use?? thinking out side the box is welcome..

i will post the answers in a few days..

i'd say if its that cold and muddy in spring after a cold rain, the fish will be tight to cover, so I'd throw a pig n jig to any timber, or roll a bright colored spinnerbait, single colorado blade, or a black lizard(shallow water theory only)....if you think theres a break in the water clarity, then perhaps a first drop pattern would work with chartruse crankbaits.

I would say rather bright colors. I was throwing a white tube the other day in water like this, aong with a silver rattle trap.

Our lake is like that up the river all year long. I like red or bright chartreuse cranbaits for muddy water. I usually have to be bumping cover to get bit though. If I cant get them chasing and have to flip, I like something pretty "leggy" that has lots of movement like a creature bait or a lizard, I like black / red flake for those.
God Bless.

Anything that moves a lot of water, included but not limited to, Lizards, Paca's, zipper style, creature baits. I now would also have to put a Chatterbait in there with it's big vibrations. I would go with darker colored cranks, and one of your spinnerbaits due to the blades Now I wouldn't be afraid also to throw a topwater, especially something like a buzzbait or jitterbug, something with a steady retrieve, and loud noise to allow them to "HONE IN" on the bait. Adding rattles to plastics could posibly help, and definately use scent. Bigger worms with curly tails. I mean there are lot's of things to use, but you know they should be close to cover

Default maybe...

my knowledge is limited but i would go with spinnerbaits big profiles, big blades, lots of vibration, bright colors... maybe big clunky topwaters... Then I'd just go back to my bright colored senkos like I always do!

Look forward to your answers Zooker!

shop vac with a filter!

I'd throw a big honkin spinnerbait with dark colors..maybe even black, a chatterbait, a rat-l-trap, or if I'm shallow fishin...I'd throw jigs and bump stumps.

Flipping tube or jig with rattles (blacknblue). If the fish are used to it like theyre are here in arkansas and tn then you can throw regular spinnerbaits and such. It all depends on if muddy is what the fish are used to or not. If you had to go deep and water was muddy. I'd have to say blacknblue or blacknchart. jig with bulky trailer n rattles.

i would run a painted bladed colorado spinnerbait close to any wood. or crank a crankbait almost as fast as i could past and through any would i could find. then if that didnt work slowly drag a black jig with a black chunk by wood.

1) Red Rattl Trap
2) if locate fish w/ trap then throw black or junebug double hula grub w/ 3/16 oz weight
3) if can't locate the fish try a black spinnerbait and bump everything on the bank

I think he was saying (at least how I read it) was that if you use all that and still don't catch anything, go to a different lake. If not, shoot me.

A Chartruese and white spinnerbait with 2 colorado blades and the smaller blade should be a flourescent orange or red -red is easier to find. and that is a very good lure for very mucky and dark conditions it is loud, has vibrations has bright colors, and that flourescent color really makes it easy to see.
