Line Problems
 Alright, I had the worst day of fishing i have ever had yesterday. I have a medium heavy rod with a shakespeare reel. I love it. Its lucky too. For some reason my line would clog up in the morning. I took it off and spun new 12 lb Triline on it. The clogs still happened. I took line off of a spool and tied it to a tree and reeled the line in. I did this because the box of line told me not to reel straight off the spool of line. Is Triline crappy line? Did I spin the line on wrong? thanks for your help!!!

spinning reel or baitcasting ? personally i use trilene for crankbaits and some topwater
have never had a problem with it . also what are wait lure are you throwing of the medium heavy rod if the lure is to lite for the rod that could be the problem .

Welcome! Trilene is not crappy line, but line can be put on incorrectly or you could have a bad batch.

i dont know what it could be , i had bought a new rod and reel awile back, and put 4 spools of line on the way i had all was put it on , every one of them came off the spool when you touched it

If your using a spinning reel, then a product is made to straighten you line before it goes on the spool. It is a small rubber peice that you can get at BPS. I put mine on the tip of the rod firmly and it stops the twist.
