Default New PB

Its been pretty tough fishing the last two weeks....been fortunate just to avoid the skunk. This morning looked like the same thing. After the first hour plus only two dinks and a small pike. I had been fishing shallow pads and reeds so decided to change up and head for a point. There were very thick weeds which stopped abruptly and deeper water nearby. I made a few cast parralel to the weed line with a crank and a spinnerbait but nothing.

Picked up my spinning rod I use for weightless plastic and tossed a green pumpkin zero up on the weed mats and dragged it to the edge...dropped it and....nothing....began twitching/jerking it back when she hit it. I knew it was a good fish when she tried to jump but couldn't lift herself out of the water. She made a couple of runs under the boat and tried to get into the motor but I was finally able to get her in. Since I got back into bass fishing 3 years ago I've caught some decent fish including several fivers but this one is my first to break six.....six three to be exact.

After that I continued to fish the same pattern and put three more keepers in the boat plus several more small fish. But don't you know I forgot the darn camera

Oh well, what started out looking like a slow day turned into a great one...now my goal is to find a seven pounder but I kow that will probably take another 3 or 4 years.

No pictures = never happened.

Hehe, but seriously, great to hear man. Hopefully "NewPB-itis" will be contagious.
