transom trolling motor mod
hello everyone,
i guess i was really bored today since i couldnt go fishing so this is what i did. i have a 17ft tracker w/ a 9.9. the boat has power trim controls from the bow and the throttle linkage. i tapped into the bow power trim wires that run from bow to stern hooked it up to an on/off toggle switch(the switch on the left in pic)......at the transom in the battery compartment i hooked up a solenoid. i took the tramson motor alligator clips neg to battery and pos to solenoid.i now have a constant on/off from the bow or a momentary from throttle linkage. but wait there's more.....then i wanted to use the sterring wheel to steer the transom motor so i rigged up a control set-up. i now can stand in front and use either tm or both.......i also can sit in drivers seat and use transom motor and steer it. i also made it removable w/ a clevis pin when i want to use gas engine otto |
