Default whoa nelly!!! not good!!!...

we were about 10 miles out of the kill devil hills. draggin some baits -and catchin fish left and right- when the storm broke right on top of us. it backed up.i thought we were in the clear for about 20 mintues. then here it come again packin funnels and nasty 40 knot winds.. i got this funnel picture just seconds afore i stomped on it..

we were catchin air big time headin in. even a slow boat can haul it at times..

That does not sound like fun. What were you catching this time of year?
What size boat were you in?

we were trying to catch stripers-rock fish- and we did. but we had bunch of taylor blues all over the baits several times.. caught 2 chopper blue's at once-that was fun- all caught on light tackle..

we were in an 19 foot carolina skiff with a 115 suzuki on the back. not sure how fast it would go but i had it at wot even thru the breakers. i never lifted till i was in icw even then not by much..

Yeah I see it. It looks pretty hairy. I haven't been on in a few days and I see I missed something interesting. You have any more pics of it?

I doubt he has any more. It's probably kinda difficult to take a picture when you're going 50 mph over 5-ft swells, and you're puckered so hard, your a$$ has eaten 2/3 of your boat seat.

So that's why some boat seats have a lump in the cushion. It all makes sense now!

Me and a friend were fishing in a reservior about 12 miles form my house this summer when a storm broke out to the north. We continued to fish until we actually saw lighting. (He is afraid of lightning and I amd afraid of storms period be cause A tornado too out my neighbor's house when i was like 10) Anyways, we ran the whole 1/4 mile back to the car, carrying my two rods, his 3, and both our tackle boxes. Then he drove about 80 all the way back to my house....

just thought I'd share my story. Glad everyone's OK though Zook.

Nice Zook.

Don't have any pix but those are really common off of our coast with our nasty summer T-Storms (you've never been in a T-storm until you've been in a Cent. Florida one, they don't call it the lightining capital of the world for any ole reason) anywhere from 1 to 100 miles offshore, and yes I have been over 100 miles from the U.S in a 28ft. boat.
