A buddy of mine hooked my dad in the ear about 20 years ago. We were all fishing in the same boat. He broke the line off with a Tiny Torpedo. Dad just looked at me and said" pull it out before the feeling comes back" I grabbed the treble with a pair of needle nose and gave it a yank. He rubbed the blood off and kept right on fishing. Tough old bird. Hes 91 now. Fish2win

That boy is "tougher than woodpecker lips", that's what I have to say about that!! Night before last my neighbor and I was out fishing and he buried a hook right down past his thumbnail. That was a booger to get out! We ended up freezing the area around it with nitrogen so he would'nt feel it. LOL got the hook out, but now he has a freeze blister!

Mom tells a story of fishing with dad in the 70's and dad sticks a lucky 13 in her leg. Not wanting to ruin the trip dad pushes thru then cuts off the barbs and backs the bait out. Sloshes a little gas on it so it doesn't get infected. They fish the rest of the day.

I have had them in the neck, hands, fingers, wrists, but none in the legs or "God forbid" elsewhere! Fortunately, I haven't barbed one in about 18 years (slowing down and getting a little wiser!)

i built pallets for 5 years with a nail gun. my average hour was about 10,000 screw nails or around 100 pallets an hour.. the speed we would go was insane. i nailed my self 8 times in 5 years..three times in the left fore finger, twice in my left thumb, twice in my left middle finger and once in the upper thigh.-that one actually hurt- so i can say this, the area it goes thru goes numb for about 5 mintues. you have that long to remove the object before the pain kicks in... one of the pass thrus on my thumb came up thru the board-i was nailed to it from the inside- my partner busted the board then yanked the nail out with a hammer. did not really hurt at that time.. though it is weird to look thru a hole in your thumb and see the inside..

i broke my wrist snowboarding when i was in high school at straton mt in vt , when my
aunt saw it she said it really does look that bad lets get lunch and then we'll head to the clinic . so after eating we walked into the clinic about 45 minutes later and the first thing the woman behind the desk said was well how did you break your wrist . really didn't hurt for two days then it was almost unbearable but 8 weeks in a cast good as new .

You know when a dog is gun shy? It runs away when it hears a loud bang.. Well I have the same issue with rattletraps.

We where jump fishing convict bass in the Washington Channel and got two sets of trebles in the back of my head and a cool crome blue back rattle trap orniment. The loudness of the smack made my ears ring.

I flinch when I hear those rattles still. I am just glad it was pre braid as the line broke on the forward cast.

I tape'd it to my head and fished out the day.

Same customer has booked trips now for 15 years...

yeah that would be bad , the first tool shop i ever worked in i saw a guy lose a finger
while using a drill press dude never took his gloves off ( big no no ) the drill snagged
and the part spun catching the glove , ended up ripping his pinkie off and took
the length off tendon out of his arm , just about one of the worst things i have ever
seen , the tendon wrapped around the drill kinda looked the a strand of pasta .

ok..my stories. got hit in the head with a rock outa lawnmower....15 stichtes, i swear the ex-wife did it on purpose.lol. then building a front poarch, i almost castrated myself...another 15 in the left leg. it is in feb, cold as all get out, had on so much dlothing that it only ripped the top layer off. doctor said the clothing saved my leg. was using a skill saw. step daughter thought it was cool to see the muscle move when i spread the wound, lmao. then, operating a huge plate shear (wasn't supposed to, the operater was drunk), mashed off the tip, nail included, of my right bird finger. was shot by my own brother in the calf at the age of 12 ( he was aiming at the copper head between my legs), mom took out the bullet with tweezers, slapped some alchol on it and said to go outside till she called us in, hahahaha. had my right foot twisted around 180 degrees senior year of football. coach pulled it and twisted it back, gave me a shot and sent me back in. it was funny seeing me drag the leg the second half. 2 hernias since i have been married, and countless back problems. but hey... i can still go fishing, hahahahahahaha. seen alot worse happen to other folks, like the guy having his right arm ripped out by a rebar bender, and helping my brother hold a kids brains in while the paramedics arrive. too many to tell.
