Fished the Potomac today for the first time in awhile it was quite a jump from fishing the local reservoir goes as far as fishing techniques we had a good time and caught numbers and quality biggest fish went 4lbs even caught by my buddy the rest in the pictures are 2 to 3 lbs and one blue catty that wacked my pig n jig on the fall! The way the water color is down there I was only able to see the flash the catty made and I thought for a min at least I had like an 8lb bass haha, we caught around 20 fish total all fish caught on spinners, jigs, and plastics. Here are some pics:

We fished the spoils for most of the day we hit some grass down the river at high tide but we just caught a bunch of dinks. My boat is a 2000 pro team bass tracker

Thanks! How do you like it? I'll be buying a boat in the next year or so, so I'm trying to get a feel for what's out there

Mallen I love it! There good boats it gets me from A to B and catches me alot of fish. All said and done it was a great buy I've thrown alot of $ in on acessories an all aswell it's already paid for itself

3d we launched at of belle haven. I like fishing the spoils alot while I don't always catch numbers out of there I do catch quality. With that being said this is my first year fishing the Potomac and I've spent all my time (7or so trips) in mattawoman an the spoils my best fish for the year came out of the spoils area at 6 lbs 11 oz. Is there anywhere else I should try fishing?

Check out the areas around the islands there at Belle Haven. They stack up on the deep drops in Oct-Nov. Used to be under fished but lately more people have been fishing them. I haven't fished Smoot's Cove since they started all the work on 95 and they put the resort in. Used to fish the grass edges and drop offs which always held fish.
