Default I had to tide myself over...

Waiting for an authentic Nelson masterpiece is so frustrating.

So I had to do something to take the edge off...get rid of the DT's, so to speak.

Naturally, having just put the deposit down on the Nelson, a great deal on a Legend Xtreme XS70MLF popped up (after almost 2 years of looking for one ).

7'0" of MLF, Recoil-guide-having, spinning goodness.

Good Lord, it only weighs 3.0 oz.

With the Patriarch I have the whole thing weighs 9.2 oz.

I can't wait to get it wet this weekend.

We're talking about fishing right???

That's a super light spinning combo. This going to be used for the DS too?

Actually, I've just started dating Monica Lewinsky...

Yes, very light DS. The Walker rod will be for heavier DS and other finesse type fishing.

Well then, you will be needing some cigars for dipping.

I hear she prefers El Presidente

It's ridiculous. it's so light, I feel like I'm waving a twig at the fish. I put some 20lb Sufix 832 braid on it, and a 6lb fluoro leader. I tried a wacky-rigged roboworm on a drop shot setup. Sadly, I only managed to catch a couple of dinks. Hopefully, I will get to give the Patriarch drag a real test soon.

It is a very sensitive combo. I am very pleased with it. I can't wait for its big Nelson brother to be ready.

That rod was the first St. Croix I seriously considered buying (aside from my Mojo I bought due to limited funds at the time). It was very light. I'll add it to my list of tackle I'll be trying at the Hollow. Let's hope I get more crossed of that list than at W/W...
