Default hinged boat trailer

This may be a stupid question, but I have always heard that the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.

Was looking at the new boat I got and noticed that the trailer is a hinged type with the release underneath it.

What is the purpose of this type of trailer. Is there supposed to be some special way to load and unload a boat with this type of trailer?

i had one for years it makes loading and unloading in shallow launches easier. ya back almost in. pull the release. then back the rest of the way in. the trailer falls away from the boat when it gets about 1/2 way off.
