"Ultimate fisherman"
i was watching ESPN2 on Sunday morning and they had this show for the "Ultimate Outdoorsman" where they took every day hunters and what not, let act as "host" of a show while hunting, and then they judge who is the best, and the eventual winner gets to be host with the main guy for a show.
I thought that this would be a good idea for "Ultimate fisherman"...it could be set up in the same way, having normal everyday fishermen who compete to get a spot in the classic or some other tournament. I think it would be a pretty cool idea to really get some reward for the normal guys who really drive the sport. I think it would be neat to watch, and would really put a boom into bass fishing. The easiest way would be to have head to head competitions using weigh-ins with the bracket format...but I'm sure there would be other ways to spice it up even more..like rating anglers techniques, presentation, all that sort of stuff that goes into producing a fish on the end of the line. We all know even the best can have rough days. I don't know if a show like this already exists, but I think someone should get on the move with this right now! |

I've watched those shows, but they don't really take you anywhere...I mean a full out competition for normal anglers to get into a big time tournament. Like, you and I going head to head for the final spot in the bassmasters classic. Thats way more valuable than 5000 dollars or some tips from denny, eh? Judging the technique would be the same as Denny's show, but be much more involved and in depth.

I would rather have the tips to become a better angler, and then give my 5 grand to help pay for tourney fees and equipment.

Any way ya look at it, it would be a learning experience...I tend to think I'd choke in front of the camera just trying to fish ...

Jb, you would be fine once you started fishing,Your air time might be cut short if you lost a good one by the boat though. I don't think allow you to say Dang nabbit or Jeeper Cats on the show. P N J
