AHHHHHH my favorite cover in the fall. SPINNER BAITS Got it. Match the hatch. Bigger spinners in the fall is the key.

I'm with Laser on this one, Spinnerbaits rule in this situation. Use one with large colorado blades. They run shallower that willow leaf blade types. Also a 3-4 inch plastic grub used as a trailer will also help it to run shallower and add some attraction to the bait. I like white with gold blades myself.

On the color topic I generally try and use one that is appropiate for the clarity of the water, such as clear water I generally go with skirts that are a scale pattern, stained water I start thowing ones that have some chartruse, and muddy water generally go with black. Latley I have been throwing mainly willow leaf combinations due to the fact that at this time of year they are generally chasing shad getting ready for the winter.

Scum Frogs Hmmmmmm The bait of champions. Caught more fish in the dead heat of summer on the frogs than any other 3 baits together. Havent tried them in the fall, guess I should.

I can't believe I'm going to throw on of my tricks out there, but here it is. Get your spinning rod w/ 20lb braid. Small plastic t-rig (pegged) 1/32oz sinker. Chunk it out in the middle of them pads. Work it back to the boat. I know, I know It's not like anyone else doesn't do it, but man has it been working for me lately.

As far as scum frogs are concerned I only throw one and that be the green one. Actually its the bass rat made by scum frog. I do 2 things to the frog before fishing. Put the Gamacatsu frog hook on it and change the skirt to a yellow and black one and START FISHING. This year alone I have pocketed $1600 on the thing in local tourneys due to its bigger bass catching ability.

the tourney guys dont always win... it takes alot of dough to pay for gas for your boat, car, and entry fee. but if you are good, you can make it a long ways...

But the horney toad will sink if you just pop it or reel it in, unless you reel really fast.
