Default Nothing to brag about

Yep caught 5 that weighed over 7lbs today. Very small limit which is unusual but I fished completely new water today and messed around a lot. I did get to do some sight fishing (the water was crystal clear) and caught one bass around 2lbs and a 4.5lb Snakehead on a Chigger Craw which was very cool until it destroyed the hook.

I'm prepped and ready to fish the Stren on Thursday . No question I can put a good limit in the boat!!!

Gawd....I'd like to just catch ONE 7lb'er in my life hehe. I can't imagine what it must be like to catch a limit of 35+ lbs. Great job, pal. Good luck in the Stren!

Ahhh, I get it! His fish weighed a TOTAL of 7 lbs!

Yeah, that would indeed be a small limit.

Funny me...it's why I am such a grammar, punctuation, and spelling Nazi.

Because punctuation and grammar are the difference between helping your Uncle, Jack, off a horse and well...you get the picture.

thanks bob.

I'm always like what, than I'm like ooohhh, they forgot the comma!

I used to do this so badly, that it help we get banned from another forum. I hope I still don't do it as bad.

3D,
My buddy finished 2nd in the FOM last weekend on the Potomac with 20+ lbs. He said they caught their better fish on a Chatterbait. He also caught a 6.55 lb spawner. Apparently they're not done. I caught one in a pond yesterday that was on a bed and fat as a tick! Good luck in the Stren!

I just can not seem to get on that chatterbait wagon.... I wish to quote Pete Sissle and Glen Peacock....

"The Potomac is a plastic river"

Pete and Glen where the very first guides on the Potomac....

capn I would have said that a few years ago, tried and tried and thought it was a joke when I first heard about it, however one evening with Denny on the cause way we found a underwater point and for ****sNgiggles we tied on those blasted chatterbaits and wham! we were in a school of five pounders that munched that blade like crazy. Been using them with the spinnerbait eversince...not my favorite bait but I've had some good luck with them. Its fun to watch them dart about when your move the rod tip. I guess where you're fishing is a tube and plastics wonderland, I hear it from everyone.

Yea we used to crush them on a seldom used worm anymore. A camilion ring worm made by Ketchum. It had a small curl tail and held Lock-Jaw scent like there was no way to remove it.

I get them now from Barlows.

Capt - this past Sat was a plastic bite. I had four limits on a creature/craw bite. Key was using 3/8th oz weight or heavier and getting it down into the emerging hydrilla. Pop it out and the bass snapped it up.

I fished the chatterbait four different days last week and couldn't get a sniff. Seems they didn't want it at all. Strange since they hit crankbaits and spinnerbaits.
