Default Day on Anna

Another day spent on the radioactive mudhole. Started out slinging traps and shallow crankbaits. Didn't catch anything. The Major missed one here and there, good fish too, on his favorite trap and deep diving crank. He's got the Humm 798 and we were looking for brush piles and rocks. Found a hump and rock pile in 15' and he missed a nice keeper (2.5lbs +) on the deep diving crank. Oh those bass are in trouble when I get mine !!!
Worked back into a creek and had a bass roll on the surface. I had switched to a Series 4 at that point and tossed it out. First bass was shy of 2lbs. Worked further back and the Major caught a 13.5" Crappie on a Red Eye. I caught another skinny keeper on a the Series 4, and then another, and then a short fish. The Major tossed the Red Eye out to another fish that hit the surface and he hooks up with a peanut.
Later in the day working another shallow flat the Major hits a couple 2lb bass and another short. Surprising day since normal post cold front conditions and blue bird skies shut these lake fish off. Water temps ranged in the 67.5 to 70 degree range. I finished off the day with a nice 14" fish on the Series 4 and we head in to see what it took to win a check at the team tournament that was on the lake that day.
Took 21.92 lbs to win and 11 something to cut a check. Our best five, that actually got in the boat, put us at 8.5-9 lbs but with the lost fish we had on we could have been in the money. Still not bad for just checking out areas and spending a lot of time testing out the new sonar.
