Default well no bragging here.....lol

ok, i have been home a week now after spending 5 weeks in pa. got some "chores" done and got a few more to do when lisa says to me yesterday, "pack up the RAJUN CAJUN and let's go to guntersville. it was overcast, light winds and all around a pretty day. overcast skies means lisa can go to. so...i hook up the boat and we head out. making about 5 stops along the way of course (women, haha). we get in the water at about 12:30 pm. and start fishing. wind kicks up to around 15 mph, not good. but we fish the grass like crazy anyway. lizards, spinnerbaits, cranks. lizards in the grass, spinners along the grass line and cranks in deeper waters off the grass line. NOTHING...NADA....ZIPPO !!!!

we, meaning lisa, decides we should go into JONES COVE to get out of the wind if possible. i say ok, crank up and ease our way there. not many folks out on a monday anyway so i figure we will have it to ourselves mostly. and i was right.l only 3 others where there. i remember what ol mississippiboy said about him and some of you others talking about FROGGING. so i tie on a 2 frogs, 1 is a spro frog, the other a plastic frog. the spro did better in the grass mats so i stuck with it.

lisa kept using her lizard, even thought she tried to use the spro frog and didn't like it.lol. after about 3 hrs i FINALLY got a fish. not a great one, but legal size (16 1/2 ") skinny thing too. so i was encouraged to keep using the spro. lisa got a lil one too (14 1/2 ") chunky thing. but it was now hitting 6:30 pm and the sun was getting low. so we motored back to the launch and headed home.

we stopped to eat at waffle house ont he way home, good meal, better company. got home, showered and hit the ol haystack.

like i said, not a good day fishing.....but a FANTASTIC DAY on the water with my wonderful, loving wife.

Awesome! Sounds like you had a good time on the water with Lisa.

Sounds like the perfect day. I bought the hubby a t-shirt years ago that said "If you can't fish with the one you love, fish with the one your with." So glad you got to fish with the one you love!!!!

I would say that was a well deserved trip for both of you. Nothing like some quiet time away from it all with your significant other. I'm glad you were able to get back out on the water and share a few pics with us to boot.
