Default You know you are a bass fisherman when...

It becomes automatic. This afternoon I mowed the yard-hopefully for the last time this year. I was coiling up the extension cord-I have 2 joined together-when the plugs bumped off a brick border we have around the front porch. It felt just like a hard thump on a worm or jig, and without even thinking my hands moved into position to set the hook-the right moved like it does when you lower the rod tip and my left hand was grabbing for the reel handle. I came REAL close to trying to set the hook. It took me a second to realize I was holding an extension cord and not a bass rod!

One of the first I do in the morning is look out my bedroom window to see my bass boat. It's a dream come true, no doubt about it!

When you introduce your boat to everyone (including your girlfriend) as my baby.

when....
1.You write your congressman in an attempt to change the national anthem to "I'm Gonna Miss Her"
2.Your thumb feels like sandpaper
3.You carry a pair of nail clippers and a hook hone in your pocket at all times (I actually do this)
4.You tell your secretary not to book anything after 2pm in the Spring (I do this too)
5.Your favorite magazines are Bass Times, Bassmaster magazine, FLW outdoors and Bassin'
6.Your favorite TV show is bass fishin on ESPN
7.You practice pitching into the flower pot as you stand watching your favorite fishing show.

going back to the original thread starter by Rebbasser,......that was too funny. I remember telling my wife how I almost threw our infant daughter across the restaurant once, she was sleeping in her car seat as i was carrying her thru a restaurant and she just squirmed just a touch. It was in the winter and I was really antsy for some fishin'.Like rebbasser said,....I almost thru her clear across the restaurant in a sub-conscious hook-set. I mean I REALLY did. She is healthy and happy and almost 6 years old now despite her father
