Default Tuff fishing on river

Early in the week the river was my friend but this weekend it decided to kick my butt a little and wake me up. Fishing was tough and if you didn't adjust you could have been skunked.

Ended up with a couple of small limits and not many keepers but still caught enough to cull one or two fish and one big snakehead. Thought I'd post a couple pics of some of the water I fished with one of the guys from the club.

First pic is the best spot of the day. It gave up 4 or 5 keepers and then things shut down.

Give me that fillet o'fish. Give me that fish!!!

1) Just inside mouth past the grill dock

2) Marsh bank before 1st beaver hut - snakehead was caught here

3) Shady area in the way back

Pohick

Fished Mallows too. One day I'll figure out how to get into the pond. I need to bring an overhead pic and get a good high tide!!!

The pond is guarded by a sunken barge on the right .. you hafta slide in on the skinny side but beware lots of rebar and engine parts..

I used to do in my big Gambler during spring tides.

I can see the pond from out by the shoreline barges. Found a pig sitting off one of the barges. In the 6+ category. Came up and took a look at my floating worm. Followed it down as it sank and just swam away.

Yes there is plenty of metal left on those skeletons. Probably why you don't see a lot of people fishing in there.

That's the problem...she knew that worm should float, and when it sank, the unnatural behavior spooked her.

Sippi - I think the boat might have spooked the fish or the fact that it was a merthiolate worm might have given the fish an idea.....

Here's a couple pics of what it looks like 85 years later.
