My business
I especially enjoy the media's lame attempt at making this seem like a surprise.... http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...19lGwD9A20I7O0
"Unexpectedly", really I'm pretty sure I expect a lot more of this...My home state has just raised taxes on small businesses by adding service taxes and expanding taxes on all my equipment. So, I buy all my equipment from a local vendor (pay taxes on it) and now the state is charging me annually on the depreciated value of the equipment...is this double taxation or what? I called to complain about the 7,000 tax bill that we got and basically I got the "too bad" attitude! WTF, no wonder everyone is living on public assistance it's a lot easier than trying to run a business and pay your taxes. I would really like to hire a new employee right now as business for our company is expanding, but I can't afford it. Especially when you add in all the payroll tax costs/unemployment/worker's comp/Fica/Futa...it's ridiculous... start cutting taxes for business who are fiscally responsible and don't need a bailout. I'm struggling just to keep things running above water, but I'm paying my taxes; sometime I fore-go my light bill and put off other bills just so the city/state/feds get theirs. My fear is things are going to get a whole lot worse I can almost sense it among the marketplace right now. Vendors are not stocking supplies, everyone is cutting back on advertising and employee benefits/overtime/etc. When you are in the trenches everyday you have your finger on the pulse of what's really going on and I don't think that this rise in un-employment is "unexpected" at all!..EndRant

I would like to quote a great big man;
If we are to go forward, we must move as a trained and loyal army willing to sacrifice for the good of the common discipline, because without such discipline no progress is made, no leadership is effective. We are, I know, ready and willing to submit our lives and property to such discipline, because it makes possible a leadership which aims at a larger good. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, First Inaugural, March 1933

very funny WTL... oh yeah it's the same guy who signed executive order 6102.. which literally took gold from any private holder and made it property of U.S...
Not all of FDR's intentions were bad, many things out of his administration were good. I am sure that he did no foresee what would become of Social Security, because I actually believe that in theory and controlled efficiently SS could be a good program.

So many people look back with a brainwashed eye and think FDR was such a great President. I see him as one of the most power-hungry, socialist a-holes ever to walk (er, sorry...roll) the planet.
If I had my way, I'd get rid of almost every single thing he foisted upon future generations. Social Security? Gone. In my opinion, his highest achievement was the TVA, if only because I like all of the bass fishing impoundments it created.

Makes fishing "Wilson" lake a little bittersweet, thats for sure. I hate Woodrow Wilson. Wish I could go back in a time machine just to cripple his *** the old fashioned way.
